Muslim youth beaten to death in Delhi, two arrested

New Delhi: A group of men allegedly caught hold of 20-year-old Sarfaraz, took him to a factory and thrashed him with sticks, the police said.

The incident took place on Saturday night in Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar area.

Sarfaraz was found unconscious on Sunday morning, and was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, a senior police officer said.

According to police, Sarfaraz’s brother said he went out for a walk near their house when the accused picked him up. The family came to know about the incident from their neighbours.

The police further quoted his brother as saying that he was thrashed on suspicion of theft.

A murder case has been registered at Swaroop Nagar police station in connection with the same.

Two men, Amit and Videsh have been arrested and two other accused have been identified. The police are allegedly conducting raids to nab them.
