Several others are aghast over the fact that Osama Shahab has been left alone and that no RJD has not reached the DDU hospital to support him for the recovery of his father’s body.

New Delhi: Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and others have called for a judicial probe into the death of former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Shahabuddin in New Delhi. He has also urged the Bihar government to organise his funeral with full state honours.
RJD spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan retweeted his post expressing his solidarity with the same. Gagan wrote, ”You are an important part of the NDA and a senior politician as well. So, we believe that Prime Minister, home minister and Bihar Chief Minister will surely make decisions as per your demands.”
Shahabuddin’s son Osama Shahab and others are present at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where his body has been kept. They have been asking the hospital staff to hand over the body and they are not doing so.
Shahreyar Khan, a close associate of Shahabuddin’s son Osama Shahab said that authorities want to bury him at a place, where people cannot reach.
Earlier, his family had approached Delhi High Court seeking better medical care. Their counsel told the court that no separate arrangements were made by the Tihar jail authorities despite other inmates testing Covid-19 positive in early April. He was kept in the same cell as other infected inmates.
The high court had then directed the Delhi government and prison authorities to monitor his proper medical care and allow him to speak to a family member twice a day.
The series of events cast a doubt on the role of Jail authorities and hospital management in connection with Shahabuddin’s death.
Amid such reports, #JusticeforShahabuddin is trending on social media. Netizens alleged that Shahabuddin was not given due medical care and his death could be the result of a conspiracy.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi said on Twitter that his family members should be allowed to take his body to their native palace, Siwan, Bihar.
